Internship, Electrical Engineer, Project Engineering (Winter/Spring 2027)

Tesla is seeking an Electrical Engineering Project Engineering Intern to support the technical execution and deployment of utility-scale energy storage systems. The role assists with electrical system reviews, project tracking, cross-functional coordination, and stakeholder engagement while gaining hands-on exposure to engineering, construction, and permitting.

What you'll do:

• Support the application of electrical and power systems knowledge to help identify solutions for large-scale utility projects
• Assist in the review of single line drawings, communication wiring diagrams, and BESS system layouts
• Assist in tracking project scope, schedules, and stakeholder updates to help keep all parties in sync
• Develop an understanding of engineering, construction, and permitting concepts and rules of conduct through hands-on project exposure
• Support cross-functional teams by contributing to discussions and helping drive innovative solutions
• Shadow and assist senior engineers in interfacing with internal stakeholders (Project Managers, Product Engineers, Sales) and external partners (utilities, AHJs, contractors, and end customers)
