Internship - Engineering

Service Wire Company is a supplier of industrial and utility wire and cable seeking an Engineering Intern in Culloden, West Virginia. The intern will apply engineering fundamentals to improve engineering drawings, bills of materials, and manufacturing processes while supporting engineers and operations. The role also involves production-floor analysis, process recommendations, documentation, presentations, and reporting to leadership.

What you'll do:

• Use strategic thinking to approach problems and create solutions
• Review processes and materials used in production to ensure BOMs are correct
• Assist with time studies on the production floor
• Make recommendations to management regarding manufacturing improvements based on data collected on production floor
• Document and make changes to drawings with the support of engineers
• Communicate findings and project status clearly and professionally through presentations
• Provide comprehensive report out to leadership on assignments and other related projects
• Must be willing to undergo a background check, in accordance with local law/regulations
• Intern is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls
• Intern is regularly required to stand and reach with hands and arms.  Employee regularly is required to stoop, bend, and crouch
• Intern must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Occasionally the employee must move up to 100 pounds by pushing, pulling, or sliding
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

• - High school diploma or GED (General Equivalency Diploma), college junior or senior level in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering or related program
• - Experience with software programs (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, AutoCad, SolidWorks, etc.)
