Internship in Investment/Strategy Research (Undergraduate & Master's)

Dimensional Fund Advisors is an investment management firm whose Research Department develops investment and financial markets research, investment approaches, portfolio management practices, trading processes, and technology solutions. The intern will support research projects through portfolio and strategy analysis, simulations, empirical research, academic literature review, and collaboration with investment and client services teams.

What you'll do:

• Perform analysis on portfolios and prospective strategies
• Execute and analyze simulations for research on asset pricing models and economics studies
• Conduct empirical research related to Dimensional’s investment strategies and a variety of investment topics
• Review relevant academic papers and present findings to internal research teams; and
• Work with other members of the investment and client services teams to answer internal and client questions

What they're looking for:

• Minimum 3.2 GPA and pursuing an undergraduate or specialized Master's degree with an expected graduation date of December 2027 – June 2028
• Excellent quantitative problem-solving and analytic skills
• Ability to communicate financial and economic concepts, in both oral and written form
• Self-starter who can manage multiple projects and meeting deadlines
• Strong programming skills in one or more languages, such as C#, C++, Fortran, R, Python, or Stata
• Experience doing empirical research with large datasets
• Preferred fields of study include finance, economics, mathematics, statistics, computer science, physics, engineering, or other related quantitative fields
