Internship Opportunity - Data Science Intern

National Gypsum Company is a building products company seeking a Data Science Intern to join its Data Science and Analytics team. The intern will analyze supply chain, manufacturing, and pricing data, develop analytical models, research governance and data retention policies for large language models, and present actionable insights to stakeholders.

What you'll do:

• Analyze supply chain, manufacturing, and pricing data to identify trends, efficiencies, and opportunities for improvement
• Participate in the development and implementation of analytical models to solve complex business problems
• Conduct comprehensive research on governance policies and data retention strategies for LLMs, presenting findings to senior team members
• Collaborate with data scientists and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver actionable insights
• Assist in the documentation and presentation of analysis results and project outcomes
• Engage in continuous learning activities with other team members, including workshops and seminars relevant to the role

What they're looking for:

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail
• Proficient in data manipulation and analysis tools such as SQL, Python, R, or similar
• Basic understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying complex information in an understandable manner
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple tasks effectively
• Travel may be required up to 10% per internship period
