Internship, Product Engineer, Applications Engineering (Winter/Spring 2027)

Tesla is seeking an intern to join its Product Management team and support the development of products and offerings in the energy and technology sectors. The role involves supporting Product Managers, conducting market and customer research, defining product specifications, and helping launch new products.

What you'll do:

• Support Product Managers directly on all core and critical team efforts. Candidates are expected to own and drive multiple independent and collaborative efforts to completion
• Support workstreams such as next-generation product spec and offering definition, new-market entry, service and maintenance topics, and more
• Perform market and customer research, present tradeoffs and opportunities, and drive conclusive decisions with key technical and commercial stakeholders
• Support the launch readiness of new products and offerings, by leading internal workstreams and creating and delivering collateral and training

What they're looking for:

• This position is expected to start around January 2027 and continue through the entire Spring term (ending approximately May 2027 or later, if available)
• We ask for a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time (40 hours/week) and on-site, for most internships
• Our internship program is for students who are actively enrolled in an academic program
• You must be able to work 40 hours per week on-site
• Currently pursuing a degree in engineering or a related field of study with a graduation date between May 2027- May 2028
• Experience in cross-functional work spanning technical, financial, operational, and a strong desire to develop a deep understanding of customer and market requirements
• Previous experience in product management is not required, a strong academic understanding of technical topics and an interest in operations/finance/strategy is required
• Excellent organization, communication, and documentation skills
