The role involves coordinating project backlogs, gathering and documenting requirements, testing and implementing system enhancements, supporting business stakeholders, and developing skills in data analysis, SQL, reporting, and project management.

What you'll do:

  • Coordinate recurring backlog review sessions with business stakeholders and IT team members to communicate agreed-upon priorities, status, and anticipated project timing
  • Serve as a consistent point of contact and resource in IT for assigned business departments, responding to questions, routing requests to the right resource, and sustaining the relationship through routine check-ins and proactive communication on open items
  • Provide regular status reporting on backlog items, open support requests, and enhancements currently in progress to business stakeholders and IT leadership
  • Participate in requirements gathering sessions and contribute to user interviews and workshop documentation
  • Document user needs and prepare use cases, functional requirements, and process flow diagrams
  • Execute test plans and assist in the testing and validation of solutions prior to deployment
  • Assist in the implementation of system enhancements, application updates, and upgrades under guidance, following the change control framework
  • Learn assigned application data models and develop basic SQL queries to retrieve, validate, and troubleshoot data under supervision
  • Assist in building data extracts, reports, and dashboards using Excel and Power BI
  • Assist in the preparation of training materials and deliver end user training on new systems and processes
  • Maintain accurate documentation of processes and configurations in Confluence, and track and update assigned work in Jira

What they're looking for:

  • * Bachelor's degree required, in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related technical field
  • * 0 to 3 years of professional IT or business operations experience; new and recent graduates are encouraged to apply
  • * Coursework, internship, academic project, or work experience involving relational databases and SQL
  • * Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), including Excel functions such as VLOOKUP and pivot tables
  • * Familiarity with AI tools and an understanding of how they can be applied to business processes and day-to-day productivity
  • * Familiarity with the software development lifecycle and agile/waterfall methodologies
  • * Ability to document requirements and process flows clearly using tools such as Word, Excel, Visio, or Confluence
  • * Strong organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to prioritize and track multiple concurrent requests and deliverables
  • * Excellent written and verbal communication skills, a service oriented mindset, and comfort working directly with business stakeholders at all levels
  • * Initiative in problem solving, a demonstrated willingness to learn new technical and functional subject matter, and the ability to work effectively under supervision while building toward greater independence
  • * Internship, co-op, or full-time experience in the Upstream oil and gas industry
  • * Petroleum engineering, geoscience, or a related technical degree paired with demonstrated interest in data, systems, and technology

Benefits:

  • Structured mentorship
  • Cross-training with experienced team members
  • Vendor-led training on assigned applications
  • A hybrid work schedule with remote work on Mondays and Fridays as an option
