IT Internship - Irving, TX (Summer 2027)

Builders FirstSource is a supplier of building materials, value-added components, and building services for the professional market. The IT Intern will support digital transformation efforts by helping increase adoption of the myBLDR digital platform, engaging with field teams, analyzing feedback and adoption data, and developing product recommendations. The intern will also collaborate with Digital, IT, Product Management, Sales, and Operations teams on change management and project initiatives.

What you'll do:

• Assist with various projects in support of the Digital Field Engagement team
• Support initiatives designed to increase adoption and utilization of the myBLDR digital platform
• Conduct outreach and engagement activities with field teams within an assigned market area
• Gather, organize, and analyze user feedback, adoption data, and operational insights to identify opportunities for improvement
• Identify barriers to digital adoption and recommend solutions to improve user experience and engagement
• Translate field feedback into actionable product recommendations and business requirements
• Participate in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and project planning discussions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Digital, IT, Product Management, Sales, and Operations, to support project goals
• Assist with change management initiatives that help drive digital transformation throughout the organization
• Develop and present findings, recommendations, and measurable outcomes at the conclusion of the internship

• Must be actively pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology Management or a related field with a general understanding of business and digital technology
• Open to students at any academic level (Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or Graduate Student)
• Interest in digital transformation, technology adoption, business operations, and customer engagement
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a collaborative environment
• Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people and stakeholders
• Comfortable interacting with field personnel, business leaders, and cross-functional teams
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook
• Strong analytical and data interpretation skills
• Project management and organizational skills
• Understanding of change management concepts and user adoption strategies
• Problem-solving abilities with a focus on continuous improvement
