IT Software Engineering Internship

Talcott Financial Group is an international life insurance group providing risk solutions and capital management services. The Software Engineering Intern will support the Information Technology department by analyzing requirements and data, designing and potentially developing software, and providing project support for the Business Applications portfolio. The role involves collaborating with engineers and business stakeholders while gaining hands-on experience with Python, SQL, Azure, and MS Fabric.

What you'll do:

• Analyze data/requirements and translate into technical specifications
• Analyze, design, and possibly develop software programs aligned to the portfolio
• Collaborate cross-functionally with software engineers, business users, project managers, and others to bring the planned outcome to closure
• Provide recommendations for continuous improvement
• Work alongside other engineers on the team to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices

What they're looking for:

• Student pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline
• Solid technical proficiency with an eagerness to learn new technologies such as Python, SQL, React, MS Fabric, Power BI or other coding tools
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Team oriented with the ability to work well independently
• Demonstrated drive for continuous learning and growth
• Strong work ethic and the willingness to “do what it takes” to meet business deliverables

• Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without current or future visa sponsorship
• Previous internship experience is preferred but not required
