Jr Cash Accountant

Carle Health is hiring a Jr Cash Accountant to support daily cash management operations in Workday Financial Management. The role processes and applies cash receipts, reconciles accounts, researches cash exceptions, and supports reporting, close processes, audits, and related teams.

What you'll do:

• Process and record cash receipts, ACH transactions, wire transfers, lockbox activity, and deposits within Workday Financial Management
• Apply customer payments to invoices, grants, projects, gifts, and other Workday worktags, ensuring accurate coding and allocation
• Reconcile daily and monthly cash activity between bank accounts, banking platforms, and the general ledger; identify and resolve routine reconciling items
• Research unidentified deposits, unapplied cash, payment discrepancies, and other routine cash exceptions
• Prepare cash-related transactions, account adjustments, and journal entries in accordance with established accounting policies and procedures
• Monitor cash activity and prepare routine reports supporting cash reconciliation and financial reporting activities
• Prepare supporting documentation and account reconciliations for month-end and year-end close processes
• Support internal and external audit requests by gathering cash management documentation, reconciliations, and transaction support
• Execute cash management responsibilities in compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, regulatory requirements, and established procedures
• Collaborate with Revenue Cycle, Treasury, Grants, Research, Foundation, and Accounting teams to ensure timely and accurate recording of cash activity
• Process and monitor non-patient cash receipts, including grants, research funding, philanthropic contributions, donor gifts, and other organizational receipts
• Coordinate with internal departments to investigate and resolve routine cash application issues and reconciliation questions
