JR Staff Accountant

STS Aerospace is hiring a Jr. Staff Accountant to process accounts receivable and perform staff accounting functions using accounting software. The role supports general ledger activities, invoice and payment processing, inventory and fixed-asset accounting, and monthly and annual closings.

What you'll do:

• Process customer invoices, apply payments, monitor aging, and support collections efforts
• Review freight invoices for accuracy, validate charges against contracts or shipping records, and resolve discrepancies with carriers or internal teams
• Compiles and prepares entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts, documenting business transactions
• Assist the Accountant with journal entries and entry into the accounting software
• Perform labor transaction adjustments or other adjustments in the accounting software
• Issue inventory cycle counts, reconcile variances, and support inventory accuracy initiatives
• Maintain the fixed asset subledger, record additions/disposals, calculate depreciation, and support asset audits
• Determines proper handling of financial transactions and approves transactions within designated limits
• Monitors compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures
• Reviews, investigates, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports
• Devises and implements system for general accounting
• Makes recommendations regarding the accounting of reserves, assets, and expenditures

• Must have excellent interpersonal skills to investigate and resolve AR & Accounting issues as they arise
• Proficiency with Excel and accounting systems
• Bachelor's Degree or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
