Junior Accountant

JFS at Home is seeking a detail-oriented Junior Accountant to support its accounting team. The role focuses on billing, accounts receivable, payroll processing, reconciliations, general accounting, financial reporting, and maintaining accurate and confidential records.

What you'll do:

• Process billing transactions and maintain accurate customer account records
• Post and reconcile customer payments
• Research and resolve billing discrepancies and payment issues
• Maintain accurate billing documentation and supporting records
• Assist with processing bi-weekly or semi-monthly payroll
• Review employee time records, hours, deductions, mileage, and other payroll information for accuracy
• Coordinate payroll adjustments and corrections as needed
• Reconcile payroll reports to the general ledger
• Maintain confidential payroll records and documentation
• Assist with payroll-related reporting and tax documentation
• Perform bank, credit card, A/R, and other account reconciliations
• Assist with accounts payable and expense processing

What they're looking for:

• 1–3 years of accounting, bookkeeping, billing, payroll, or related experience
• Previous hands-on billing and payroll experience required
• Previous hands-on billing and payroll experience strongly preferred
• Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial reporting
• Experience with payroll, or accounting software
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling financial and employee information
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
