Junior Accountant

Segal is a leading North American employee benefit, human resources, and investment management consulting firm. The Junior Accountant will support day-to-day financial operations through reconciliations, journal entries, close activities, reporting, budgeting support, and compliance with accounting policies and standards.

What you'll do:

• Support monthly and quarterly close activities, including journal entries, daily cash sheet preparation, and bank and cashbook reconciliations
• Prepare and analyze balance sheet and expense account reconciliations, including general ledger, bank statement, and daily cash sheet activity
• Create monthly internal Profit and Loss statements for distribution to reporting groups and provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting for leaders, including Directors and the CFO

What they're looking for:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business or other quantitative and analytical related academic discipline
• 1+ years of relevant accounting and/or financial administration experience, with familiarity with basic accounting principles and the ability to research, analyze, and summarize financial information
• Demonstrated initiative, strong time management and organizational skills, and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Strong interpersonal, client service, and verbal/written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and in teams, interact professionally with others, and communicate clearly by phone and in writing
• Experience and/or familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations and Power BI is preferred
