About this role
Blu Omega is seeking a Junior Data Analyst to support a federal health data modernization program. The role transforms complex data into actionable insights by analyzing datasets, developing and validating dashboards and reports, communicating findings, and improving reporting and analytics processes in a remote environment.
What you'll do:
- Collaborate with project requesters, stakeholders, and project managers to refine analytical requests and clarify business needs
- Establish metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure performance and support technical and business outcomes
- Analyze, clean, manipulate, and interpret complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies
- Support the development, review, and validation of dashboards, reports, and presentations for internal and external audiences
- Communicate data findings and insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Perform quality control checks on dashboards and reports prior to release and work with data teams to improve data quality
- Support continuous process improvements in reporting and analytics
What they're looking for:
- 1+ year of experience in data exploration, analysis, visualization, or mining
- 1+ year of experience manipulating data using statistical, analytical, or scripting tools
- Proven ability to deliver insights through reports, presentations, and verbal communication
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, SharePoint, or similar data analysis tools
- Experience using Python, SQL, R, or SAS for data extraction, manipulation, and visualization
- Strong attention to data quality issues and ability to communicate findings clearly
- Ability to work accurately with large datasets
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust suitability determination
- Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related field
- Experience developing Power BI dashboards or Power Apps solutions
- Knowledge of ETL processes and data performance optimization
- Experience working within Agile environments
