At Rize Credit Union , we're growing our Technology & Innovation team and looking for a curious, detail-oriented Junior Data Engineer to help us build smarter, more efficient ways to use data across our organization. In this role, you'll help develop and maintain data pipelines, improve data quality, and create reporting solutions that empower our teams to make informed decisions. You'll collaborate with business and technology partners, explore opportunities for automation, and contribute to innovative solutions that support our mission of ending poverty through financial empowerment. What You'll Do Build & Optimize Data Pipelines: Assist in designing, developing, and maintaining ETL processes that transform data from multiple sources into reliable, accessible information. Develop Data Solutions: Write and optimize SQL queries, support data modeling, and help maintain efficient data infrastructure and data warehouses. Ensure Data Quality: Monitor data accuracy, troubleshoot pipeline issues, and help maintain the integrity and reliability of information used throughout the organization. Create Meaningful Insights: Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and visualizations using tools such as Power BI, SSRS, or Amazon QuickSight to help teams understand and act on data. Drive Innovation & Efficiency: Identify opportunities to automate workflows, improve processes, and enhance how we collect, manage, and use data. Collaborate Across Teams: Partner with stakeholders to understand business needs, translate requirements into practical data solutions, and support data-driven decision-making. Share Knowledge: Document solutions, support end users, and help team members make the most of our reporting and analytics tools. What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who's technically capable, naturally curious, eager to learn, and excited about using data to solve real business challenges. Your Background & Technical Skills: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Statistics, Business, or a related field. 1–3 years of experience in data engineering, ETL development, or database engineering. Strong SQL skills, including query optimization, stored procedures, and performance tuning. Experience developing and maintaining ETL pipelines and working with data warehouses. Proficiency with business intelligence and visualization tools such as Power BI, SSRS, or Amazon QuickSight. Familiarity with data lakes, cloud-based data platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud), and data governance practices. Experience in financial services is strongly preferred. Work Arrangement This position is based out of our corporate headquarters in Irwindale, California, with the flexibility to work 100% remotely . Compensation Hourly Pay Range: $40.00 - $53.00 This is a non-exempt position eligible for overtime compensation in accordance with applicable laws. Actual compensation is determined by experience, education, skills, internal equity, and other job-related factors. As part of the hiring process, candidates who receive a contingent offer will undergo a background investigation, which may include employment verification, credit review, criminal records search, Social Security verification, and government registry checks. Candidates must also meet eligibility requirements to be bonded under a fidelity bond.
