About this role
SofterWare is a mission-driven technology company empowering nonprofits through innovative software solutions. The Junior Front-End Developer will support the development and maintenance of web applications, focusing on Angular and user experience, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software.
What you'll do:
- Develop and maintain responsive web applications using Angular and related frontend technologies
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code while following established development standards
- Implement user interface designs and product requirements under the guidance of senior developers
- Troubleshoot frontend bugs and user interface issues across browsers and devices
- Apply frontend development best practices, coding standards, and accessibility principles
- Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback into future development work
- Assist in creating and testing WalkMe content to improve product usability and user adoption
- Collaborate with Front-End Developers, Product Managers, UX/UI Designers, QA Engineers, and other cross-functional teams to deliver product enhancements
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog refinement
- Communicate project progress, questions, and potential blockers to team members
- Support testing, deployment, and release activities as needed
- Assist in developing and maintaining unit tests for frontend components
What they're looking for:
- Basic proficiency with JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3
- Familiarity with Angular or another modern frontend framework (React, Vue, etc.)
- Understanding of responsive web design and accessibility best practices
- Familiarity with Git or other version control systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and learn new technologies quickly
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional Agile teams
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Up to two years of experience in frontend development through internships, co-ops, academic projects, bootcamps, personal projects, or professional experience
