Junior In-house Recruiter - Trades & Labour

Joseph Gallagher Limited is a UK-based civil engineering and tunnelling subcontractor. The Junior In-House Recruiter will source and select candidates for blue-collar, site-based roles, manage vacancies and candidate pipelines, and coordinate with labour managers and recruiting managers to deliver appropriately skilled workers efficiently.

What you'll do:

• Liaising with Labour Managers to understand where there are gaps that require labour recruiting externally
• Managing a range of vacancies, creating vacancies in the ATS system, ensuring job descriptions are available and representative of the roles, advertising roles via the JGL careers page, job boards and through social media
• Utilising LinkedIn and other tools to actively source candidates for niche roles
• Pre-registering and screening of applicants, sifting CVs, telephone screening where appropriate and providing a shortlist of candidates to the recruiting managers
• Managing candidates, including arranging interviews and feeding back
• Conveying offers, ensuring the correct approvals are in place for the salaries or rates offered
• Ensuring the HR Administrator is provided with the information to raise contracts for new hires and that candidates and line managers provide the right paperwork for them to be processed onto payroll efficiently
• Building and maintaining a database of appropriately skilled candidates

What they're looking for:

• Experience in the construction and/or civil engineering industries
• Recruitment experience in the Construction or Civil Engineering Industry, either gained in-house or with an agency
