About this role
Radicle Health develops software products for human services organizations. The Junior Software Engineer will build full-stack features and bug fixes, with a focus on SQL Server queries and stored procedures supporting .NET Core APIs and React interfaces, while protecting sensitive healthcare data.
What you'll do:
- Build and ship well-defined features and bug fixes across the full stack, with a focus on designing, writing, and tuning SQL Server queries and stored procedures that power .NET Core APIs and React user interfaces
- Follow our best practices for code quality, testing, and the development process, including source control and deployment workflows, with support from colleagues on approach and design
- Take ownership of your work through launch and beyond, quickly noticing and addressing bugs, regressions, slow queries, and open questions related to the code you shipped
- Collaborate actively with the team by giving and welcoming thoughtful feedback in pull request reviews, asking good questions in technical discussions, and asking for help early when you're blocked
- Protect sensitive data in line with Radicle Health's guidelines for PHI, using mocked or anonymized data in development and testing, including when using AI tools
- Build a strong understanding of our products, customers, and the Health and Human Services domain, and grow toward independently designing and delivering features with less direction
What they're looking for:
- 1–3 years of experience in software development, whether professional, internship, academic, or personal projects
- A BS degree, or equivalent professional experience or certifications
- Working knowledge of SQL Server, including T-SQL, joins, stored procedures, indexes, and reading execution plans
- Working knowledge of C# and .NET Core, including building or consuming REST APIs
- A working understanding of full-stack development and how data flows from a SQL Server database through a .NET Core API to a React front end
- A foundational understanding of data structures and algorithms
- A basic understanding of source code management (such as Git) and deployment tools
- A track record of contributing to the delivery of a feature or project, and the ability to clearly describe your role in it
- A sense of ownership and accountability for the quality of your work
- A collaborative approach to working with other engineers, product managers, and QA, including openness to feedback
- An understanding of the responsibility that comes with building healthcare software, and of the importance of protecting PHI and other sensitive customer information
- Experience with React, JavaScript, and HTML/CSS
Benefits:
- Unlimited PTO policy
- Competitive medical, dental, and vision healthcare coverage
- 401k matching
- Paid holidays
- Volunteer time off
- Paid parental leave
- Remote work stipend
- Remote work
