Junior Staff Accountant

Genesis Capital is a business purpose lender providing commercial real estate financing solutions to real estate developers. The company is seeking a Junior Staff Accountant to support daily loan accounting operations, reconciliations, financial reporting, and accounting controls. The role also assists with month-end and quarter-end close, audits, and cross-functional accounting projects.

What you'll do:

• Assist with the preparation of daily journal entries for the loan accounting department
• Assist in identifying and resolving issues
• Assist in the collaboration with business users at all levels of the organization, and technology team members to implement comprehensive and sustainable solutions
• Assist with month end and quarter end close
• Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports
• Assist with Cash and Debt reconciliations
• Perform other duties as assigned by management

What they're looking for:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Minimum of 1 year of accounting experience
• Basic understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Intacct Sage)
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent problem solver, team-oriented, collaborative
• Equally comfortable working individually on solutions, or as part of a cross-functional team
• Excellent communication skills
• Sage Intacct accounting software experience a plus
