About the Role:
The Laundry Attendant plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of linens, and other fabric items within our hotel. This position ensures that all laundry operations are conducted efficiently, adhering to hygiene and safety standards to support overall facility operations. The Laundry Attendant is responsible for sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing laundry items in a timely manner to meet the needs of various departments. Attention to detail and the ability to operate laundry machinery correctly are essential to prevent damage to fabrics and maintain quality. Ultimately, this role contributes to a clean and comfortable environment for employees and guests, by managing all aspects of laundry services with professionalism and care.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to operate commercial laundry equipment safely.
- Basic understanding of fabric care and laundry procedures.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a laundry or housekeeping role.
- Familiarity with industrial laundry machines and chemical handling.
- Knowledge of workplace safety standards related to laundry operations.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Must exhibit positive interpersonal skills with focused attention to guest needs and varied business contacts.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
- Sort laundry items according to color, fabric type, and washing requirements to prevent damage and ensure proper cleaning.
- Operate washing machines, dryers, and other laundry equipment safely and efficiently following manufacturer guidelines.
- Inspect laundered items for stains, damage, or wear and report any issues to management for further action.
- Fold and organize clean laundry for distribution to appropriate departments or storage areas.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laundry area, including routine cleaning of machines and workspaces.
- Track laundry inventory and notify supervisors when supplies such as detergents or fabric softeners need replenishment.
- Laundry attendants may be required to assist in housekeeping as Room Attendant or House Person.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment for self and others.

The Laundry Attendant uses their knowledge of fabric types and washing techniques daily to ensure that all items are cleaned without damage. Operating commercial laundry machines requires mechanical aptitude and adherence to safety protocols to prevent accidents and maintain equipment longevity. Attention to detail is critical when inspecting items for stains or damage and when folding and organizing laundry to meet quality standards. Communication skills are used to report issues and coordinate with other departments to fulfill laundry needs efficiently. Time management and physical stamina enable the Laundry Attendant to handle a steady workflow while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
Hourly: $18.00-$20.00
