Description
CenCore is seeking a Lead Construction Surveillance Technician (LCST) to support secure construction operations in Colorado Springs, CO. The LCST plays a critical role in helping ensure the security and integrity of construction and renovation projects within secure or sensitive environments.
This position is responsible for overseeing construction surveillance activities, implementing site security measures, coordinating with project and security stakeholders, and helping ensure personnel follow established security protocols. The ideal candidate has strong CST experience, excellent communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to guide security practices in an active construction environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and implement security measures for construction and renovation projects to support compliance with applicable national security standards.
- Conduct inspections and surveillance of construction sites to identify, document, and mitigate potential security concerns.
- Monitor construction personnel, site activity, materials, tools, and equipment to help protect secure areas and sensitive information.
- Develop, maintain, and review detailed reports, logs, and documentation related to surveillance activities and security measures.
- Coordinate with project managers, security personnel, construction staff, and other stakeholders to support seamless security operations.
- Ensure construction personnel understand and follow established security protocols, access procedures, and site requirements.
- Provide guidance and training to construction personnel and site stakeholders on applicable security measures and protocols.
- Review security plans, site procedures, and proposed security measures for new or ongoing construction activities.
- Support issue escalation, incident reporting, and corrective action follow-up related to construction security concerns.
- Stay informed on relevant security technologies, secure construction practices, and construction surveillance best practices.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Active Top Secret/SCI clearance required.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Must be able to provide a valid U.S. Passport Book or Passport Card, if required for assignment or travel.
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Construction Surveillance Technician (CST) or in a closely related construction surveillance role.
- Valid CST certification required.
- Strong customer service skills and a commitment to supporting end-user and mission needs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to interpret and clearly convey security-related information.
- Ability to work effectively in a Windows-based operating environment.
- Ability to manage sensitive information responsibly and follow established security procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting secure construction projects in government, military, Intelligence Community, or other cleared environments.
- Experience with security operations, physical security workflows, or data center environments.
- Knowledge of security protocols and best practices in construction surveillance.
- Experience managing multiple priorities, deadlines, or project activities in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of DoD ICD 705 requirements or experience supporting SCIF construction.
- Familiarity with construction drawings, site security plans, inspection documentation, or secure construction procedures.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

- Must be able to work in varying weather conditions and construction site environments.
- May be exposed to noise, dust, uneven surfaces, and other conditions commonly associated with active construction sites.

Compensation Overview
This position is anticipated to pay $48.00 per hour, based on the requisition information provided. Final compensation may depend on contract requirements, candidate qualifications, experience, work location, and applicable law. Per diem, lodging, and travel reimbursement may be available if permitted by contract terms and assignment requirements.
Eligible employees may enroll in company-sponsored medical, dental, and vision benefits in accordance with plan terms and enrollment requirements. The company contributes toward employee healthcare premiums, subject to plan provisions.
