This position is located at MARINE CORPS BASE HAWAII SEMPER FIT - CAMP H.M. SMITH FITNESS CENTER. Candidates selected for this position will serve as a RECREATION ASSISTANT (LEAD) NF2.

Major Duties
Incumbent is assigned to one or more specialized recreational activities such as the following: WARR-Semper Fit Fitness Centers to include KBay Main Gym, Kulia, Camp Smith, and other Semper Fit Divisions as needed. Performs and/or assists in the operation of the recreation activity. Typical assignments may include establishing schedules to ensure adequate cleaning and good order of the equipment and appearance of the facilities, applying rules and regulations to all patrons of the facility to include those within the facility attending other events. Maintains supplies and notifies management of needs within the retail, custodial, or labor. Creating and maintaining the schedule for front desk employees to ensure the facility is correctly staffed at all times. May assist in maintaining routine reports and/or performing clerical, custodial and/or general maintenance duties as needed. Performs related administrative tasks such as preparing work orders for routine maintenance and purchase orders for supplies. In the absence of superiors, exercises leadership of on-duty fitness staff members. May oversee sale of retail items, reservation requests, cash handling and register close-out associated with activities May oversee sale of retail items (nicotine and tobacco products prohibited), reservation requests, cash handling and register close-out associated activities. Ensures adherence to safety rules and regulations.
Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum one year experience in a related fitness or athletics activity. Prefer but not required to have a personal training certification from a nationally accredited organization such as, but not limited to: American College of Sports Medicine, Coopers Institute of Aerobic Research, American Council of Exercise, National Strength and Conditioning Association or the Aerobic and Fitness Association of America. Incumbents should also acquire a current First Aid/CPR certification within the first 3 months of employment if they don¿t already possess one. Skill to demonstrate activities and use of related facility equipment. Skill to learn applicable MCCS policies and procedures. This is a mixed position where the incumbent must be able to lift and carry objects up to 45lbs independently and objects over 45lbs with assistance.
