Lease Accountant

Refresco is a leading global independent beverage solutions provider, and they are seeking a Lease Accountant to support the lease accounting function in their Tampa Executive Headquarters. The role involves coordinating leasing activity, maintaining records, assisting in month-end close processes, and generating reports to ensure compliance with internal controls.

What you'll do:

• Act as liaison between various departments such as Procurement, Legal and Supply Chain Finance in determining the proper lease accounting treatment and ensuring compliance with Refresco’s accounting policy. Create and capitalize right of use assets and lease liabilities in Planon by reviewing lease agreements, approved lease request, entering lease contract information, and providing detailed descriptions to improve leased asset and liability identification
• Perform quarterly reconciliation of lease payments per Planon as compared to SAP and record necessary adjustments
• Gather leasing information to enter any lease renewals, terminations and transfers in Planon
• Generate file from Planon to load journal entries into SAP
• Record month end journal entries
• Prepare continuity schedules during month-end by pulling and compiling detail of lease additions, renewals, terminations and depreciation out of Planon
• Prepare lease reports and supporting schedules for inclusion in forecasts, budget and strategic planning
• Contribute to development of forecasts and annual budget for North America
• Prepare the lease schedules reported in monthly and quarterly reporting
• Assist in ad hoc and special projects of the Accounting Team

• Knowledge of IFRS 16 and ASC 842 Lease accounting standards
• Experience with SAP
• Experience with Power BI and Power Query
• Undergraduate degree in accounting or closely related field
• 1 to 3 years relevant work experience in public accounting or industry
