Legal Collections Coordinator
 
Position Type: Full Time, Non-Exempt.
Salary Range: $34.00 -$38.00 hourly, DOE; may be eligible for bonus.
Location: This position is fully remote; however, candidates must reside in one of Ensign's operating states: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, Nevada, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Washington, or Wisconsin. Minimal travel may be required.

About the Opportunity:
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Legal Collections Coordinator​ who is eager to jump in, learn our processes, and build a strong foundation in collections. This role offers hands-on experience across all aspects of the collection lifecycle and an opportunity to grow within the team
 
Job Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Review, process, and organize new collection accounts.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date information in the collections database.
  • Track collection-related costs and process invoices in a timely manner.
  • Assist with asset research, including reviewing public records and related reports.
  • Support the preparation and filing of small claims petitions.
  • Coordinate service of process and related follow-up activities.
  • Learn and assist with post-judgment processes, including defaults, judgments, liens, levies, and satisfactions.
  • Partner with internal teams and outside counsel to help move collection accounts forward.
  • Support additional tasks and special ad hoc projects as assigned.
Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree, required.
  • At least 4 years of professional office or administrative support experience.
  • Legal experience is preferred; however, we are willing to train a highly qualified candidate with a strong administrative background.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organization.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, stay organized, and meet deadlines.
  • Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn, take initiative, and continue growing within the role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort navigating online systems and databases.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Minimal travel may be required.
Preferred Knowledge (or Willingness to Learn):
  • Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).
  • Civil procedure and local court rules related to collections.
  • Court filing processes, procedures, and legal forms.
  • Online research tools, including court databases and public record systems.
Physical Requirements: Standard Office Environment.
  • More than 50% of the time:
    • Sit, stand, walk.
    • Repetitive movement of hands, arms and legs.
    • See, speak and hear to be able to communicate.
  • Less than 50% of the time:
    • Stoop, kneel or crawl.
    • Climb and balance.
    • Carry and lift 10-20 lbs.
