Job Description and Duties
Effective July 1, 2025, in accordance with the applicable Memorandum of Understanding, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) was implemented. PLP 2025 requires each full-time employee in Bargaining Unit 19, and related Excluded, Exempt and Statutory Exempt employees, will have their base salary reduced by 3 percent and will receive 5 PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 2027. Salaries do not reflect the recent changes.
Under the general direction of the Supervising Psychiatric Social Worker, the Clinical Social Worker (Health Facility) (CSW) works in Medical Services, Integrated Substance Use Disorder Treatment (ISUDT)/Complex Care Programs – ISUDT/Complex Care unit. The CSW provides clinical care and services to incarcerated individuals within California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) via telemedicine as assigned and scheduled. The CSW conducts biopsychosocial assessments, risk assessments, level of care assessments, and screenings. The CSW also provides clinical treatment interventions such as brief counseling, group therapy, individual counseling and crisis intervention as needed. The CSW consults and collaborates with other disciplines for the care and treatment of individuals in CDCR/CCHCS and participates in interdisciplinary care planning and coordination. The CSW performs assessments that assists with and facilitates transitional care planning that links patients with community resources and services as they release from CDCR.
Under the general direction of the Supervising Psychiatric Social Worker, the Clinical Counselor (CC), works in Medical Services, ISUDT Division. The CC applies counseling interventions and psychotherapeutic techniques within the scope of applicable Business and Professions Code(s) and license, for the purpose of treating incarcerated individuals with Substance Use Disorder (SUD) and the effectiveness of preventable skills and behaviors developed for wellness. The CC performs assessments that assist with and facilitates transitional care planning and coordination that links incarcerated patients with resources.

- The CSW classification is subject to Section 5, Hiring-Above-Minimum (HAM) Authorization of the California State Civil Service Pay Scales. The authorized HAM rate for this classification is $8,876.
- The CC classification is subject to Section 5, Hiring-Above-Minimum (HAM) Authorization of the California State Civil Service Pay Scales. The authorized HAM rate for this classification is $9,319.
- The MFT classification is subject to Section 5, Hiring-Above-Minimum (HAM) Authorization of the California State Civil Service Pay Scales. The authorized HAM rate for this classification is $9,319.

Located less than 30 minutes from Sacramento and Lodi, the progressive city of Elk Grove offers a great mix of newly developed housing, business projects, and recreational opportunities.You will enjoy working at our campus-style office complex with free parking, and perhaps even call Elk Grove home.
The position is eligible for hybrid telework, in accordance with the Statewide Telework Policy and will be required to report to the office as needed/required. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.

Special Requirements
Possession of a valid license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Marriage & Family Therapist , or Clinical Counselor issued by the California Board of Behavioral Science is required.
