The mission of the Louisiana Veterans Homes is primarily to serve the Veteran population of Louisiana through the provision of medical, restorative, and rehabilitative services in an atmosphere of respect and compassion.  The primary objective of our home is to provide quality nursing care to eligible veterans with the ultimate goal of returning the veterans to the highest possible levels of physical and mental capacity.

The Louisiana Veterans Homes, located in Jackson, La., is seeking dependable and caring Licensed Practical Nurses 1 to join our team. Position Duties

Possession of a current Louisiana Practical Nurse license, a temporary permit, or a multi-state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC) state.

Job Duties:

  • Provide essential, hands-on patient care.
  • Monitor vital signs.
  • Manage basic equipment to ensure patient comfort.
  • Inserting catheters & collecting laboratory specimens

Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type:  Classified WAE Appointment (not to exceed 1,245 hours in a 12-month period)

Compensation: This position offers $28.00 hourly plus shift differential pay, with rates varying based on shift, day, and holiday schedules.

**Note regarding the advertised pay range: The advertised maximum amount listed is the maximum salary a person can make while in this title/level over their career ,and not the maximum amount we are allowed to pay a new hire.
