Linux Engineer Intern

Cboe Global Markets provides financial infrastructure, trading, clearing, and investment solutions for market participants worldwide. The Linux Engineer Intern will support the Site Reliability Engineering team in maintaining the resiliency, high availability, and performance of financial exchanges through technical support, performance optimization, capacity planning, incident management, and automation development.

What you'll do:

• Provide technical support to sustain resiliency and high availability of financial exchanges
• Analyzing performance metrics and optimizing the latency of the exchanges
• Collaborating with Infrastructure/Development teams for technology upgrades and migrations
• Supporting Cboe’s Incident Management process to resolve and investigate technical issues
• Driving and implementing capacity planning decisions for Operations
• Developing, testing, and maintaining automation and monitoring tools

• Candidates should be versatile, eager and able to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive financial and technical environment
• To be eligible for this internship, applicants must be enrolled in a university or college program and should not be scheduled to graduate before December of the year in which the internship takes place
• Currently pursuing in Bachelor's degree or higher and should not be scheduled to graduate before December of the year in which the internship takes place
• Desire to learn about technical operations for a financial exchange
• Advanced Linux command line knowledge
• High level of proficiency in Python and SQL
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship now or in the future
• Ability to read and evaluate C++ (or similarly complex OO languages)
• Knowledge of stock and options trading
