Linux System Administrator  

We are currently seeking an experienced Linux System Administrator to join our team. The Linux System Administrator must have a deep and broad knowledge of computer software, hardware and networks. They will be responsible for designing, deploying, modifying, updating and supporting our company’s computer systems as part of a globally diverse team. This position will also focus on administering the Splunk data repository, including Enterprise Security and PCI modules. Daily tasks may include installing, upgrading and monitoring software and hardware.  

Resourcefulness is a necessary skill in this role. You should be able to diagnose and resolve problems quickly and efficiently. You should also have the patience to communicate with a variety of interdisciplinary teams and users. 

This position is based at our corporate office in Allen, TX.

 Responsibilities

• Splunk: Maintain, upgrade, and optimize, including Enterprise Security and PCI.
• Splunk: Build dashboards and define alerts.
• Splunk: Perform version upgrades.
• Splunk: Define inputs and figure out how to ingest multiple data types.
• Splunk: Manage clustered indexers.
• IoT:Raspberry Pi implementations and  
• Monitor and maintain system and solution security.
• Troubleshoot problems reported by users and analyze and isolate issues.
• Administerservers, software deployment, security updates and patches. 
• Participation in an on-call rotation.
• Must be able to follow written procedures and create documentation

 Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED from State accredited school. 
• 2+ years’ experience with Splunk in an Admin or Architect role, including experience with Enterprise Security and PCI, Required
• 5+ years’ experience with Linux, ideally SLES, RHEL & CentOS, Required
• Basic knowledge of network protocols and associated tools: DNS, TCP/IP, SMTP, ping, etc. 
• Able to clear federal Level I background check, Required

Experience with the following is a plus 

• PCI-DSS/FEDRAMP/ NIST 800-53/FISMA/FIPS/CIS standards. 
• F5 LTM, DNS/GTM, APM, ASM. 
• Raspberry Pi. 
• AWS: EC2, EBS, ALB, EFS, Lambda, Connect etc.
• VMware 6.5 and later including Enterprise Plus features.
