Systems Engineer – Linux/eCommerce

Role Description:

As a LiveArea Systems Engineer, you will use the latest tools and technologies to support multiple e-commerce and order management platform technologies for our clients to ensure availability and performance criteria are maintained. Hone your experience alongside fellow talented professionals, where you will support some of the most advanced commerce solutions on the market.

The Systems Engineer is responsible for proactive monitoring, diagnostics, resolution/escalation of issues, rapid isolation and restoration of issues related to a diverse customer base with an ITIL service management focus. You will also work closely with senior systems engineers to drive improvements around incident resolution, service optimization and established standards.

Primary Objectives and Responsibilities:

Include the following; other duties may be assigned:

• Identify, resolve and escalate incidents according to best practices, process documentation and training
• Perform minor systems / application configuration changes
• Part of on-call rotation handling first level support
• Ability to quickly adapt to supporting emerging technologies and procedural changes
• Perform updates to documentation, processes, and Standard Operating Procedures
• Basic support - Adobe Magento 2.2.x – 2.3.x
• Basic support - IBM Order Management on Cloud (Sterling)
• Basic support - IBM WebSphere Commerce v7
• Basic support - SAP Hybris Commerce 6.x
• Execute basic SQL statements
• Perform basic web server configurations (Apache, IHS, Nginx)
• Configure automation using QuickBuild, Jenkins and/or scripting
• Ability to work well independently as part of a remote support team

Required Experience:

• Strong System/Linux administration skills utilizing operating systems – Linux OS (Red Hat, SUSE, CentOS, or Ubuntu)
• Experience supporting production environments
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Understanding of networking technologies
• Understanding of Web/Open Source Technologies like Apache Solr, Apache Tomcat, Apache Web Server or Nginx
• Utilize operating system scripting skills (Linux) 

Additional experience and skills considered a strong plus:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education in related fields preferred
• Experience with commerce platforms
• Experience with networking technologies (firewalls, IP protocols and ports)
• Experience creating automation via: Bash, Ksh, Batch, Perl, Python, ANT, Jenkins or QuickBuild
• Knowledge of HTML, PHP, CSS, XML
• Perform deployments to application servers
• Atlassian Jira
• Atlassian Confluence
• IT-related certifications
