About this role
Airbus is an aerospace company seeking a Long-Term Internship - Engineering Technical Aide Intern. The role supports technical document management, engineering database operations, design dataset releases, document authoring, and the development of CATIA drafting skills in an onsite engineering environment.
What you'll do:
- Search for technical documents in different relevant databases
- Release documents into the ADS/EDS Database System
- Provide the engineering team with the appropriate technical document templates
- Support various engineering database system operations and processes
- Support Functional Review Process and Design Dataset releases
- Initiate engineering documents by creating issue/reference numbers
- Review technical documents for appropriate format, grammar, and syntax
- Gather signatures on documents ready for release
- Create Adobe PDF files of current documents
- Electronically scan documents into the appropriate libraries
- Coordinate drawing distribution
- Assist in the development of presentation material (predominantly illustration development and data presentation.)
What they're looking for:
- Current student pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace/Mechanical/Civil Engineering degree. Curriculum exposure in airframe design, static analysis, mechanics of materials, and/or a CAD application is desired
- Must be currently located in the Wichita, KS metro area as this is a multi-semester, onsite work opportunity
- Proficiency with MS Office and G-Suite
- Authorized to Work in the US without current, or future, need of visa sponsorship
- Ability to work in a dynamic team environment
- Ability to interpret and follow verbal and written instructions
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and bill of material systems
- Ability to write reports and business correspondence
- Dependable, self-motivated and accessible
- A strong computer background, including MS Office application experience (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Google Suite application experience (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail)
- Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively interface with all levels of personnel and disciplines
