Machine Learning Engineer Intern (E-Commerce Governance) - 2027 Start (PhD)

TikTok is a short-form mobile video platform seeking a PhD Machine Learning Engineer Intern to support its E-commerce Governance and Experience Algorithm team. The intern will design and implement algorithms to detect and control risks and fraud across e-commerce content, products, sellers, and creators, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to define products and drive engineering initiatives.

What you'll do:

• Work with a team to design and implement algorithms to detect and control risks/frauds in contents/products/sellers/creators
• Collaborate with strategy team, product managers, policy team and ops team to help define products and drive initiatives from engineering viewpoints

What they're looking for:

• Currently pursuing a PhD in Software Development, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related discipline
• An understanding or keen interest in machine learning, NLP, or computer vision
• Familiarity with programming languages such as C++, Python, Go, or Java
• Interest or experience in anti-fraud, anti-spam, platform-integrity, or similar fields would be a cherry on top
• A profound sense of responsibility, coupled with exceptional communication and teamwork skills
