About the Department

The Department of Transportation is seeking a dedicated Management Analyst 2 who enjoys improving processes and supporting statewide programs. This position provides opportunities to engage with teams across Pennsylvania and strengthen important purchasing and inventory activities. Position Duties

This position focuses on improving statewide purchasing, procurement and inventory management activities through quality assurance, training and customer support. As a Management Analyst 2, you will perform the following duties:

  • Quality Assurance Reviews: Review statewide purchasing and procurement activities to ensure consistency with policy and regulation
  • Training Delivery: Provide in person and virtual training related to inventory management, procurement, and purchasing programs
  • Data Analysis: Analyze statewide procurement and inventory data to identify strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement
  • Issue Resolution: Respond to inquiries about procurement, purchasing, and inventory management and determine appropriate solutions
  • Process Improvement: Collaborate with agency staff to revise procedures, develop job aids, and support best practices

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 75 hours bi-weekly
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • This position may be eligible for alternate work schedule (AWS)
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
  • Candidate will have the option to work at the Keystone Building located at 400 North Street, Harrisburg, PA 17120, or at a Department of transportation engineering district office if space is available.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

Minimum Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of experience as a Management Analyst 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or 
  • Two years of experience in technical management analysis work, and a bachelor's degree; or

    Any equivalent combination of experience and training.


Other Requirements:

  • This particular position also requires a valid driver's license.
