Our Balance Sheet Management team plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting across more than 80 hospitals within Lifepoint's shared services organization. How you’ll contribute
A Manager who excels in this role:
Lead and develop a team of approximately 15–20 Staff Accountants responsible for balance sheet reconciliations across a large portfolio of hospitals within a centralized shared services environment.
Ensure timely and accurate completion of monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including full account substantiation, appropriate aging, and resolution of reconciling items in accordance with company policy.
Review complex account reconciliations and provide technical guidance to support accurate financial reporting and issue resolution.
Monitor team productivity, quality, and month-end close deliverables through daily reporting and performance metrics.
Partner with Site Liaisons, hospital CFOs, Technical Accounting, and other cross-functional teams to ensure balance sheet accounts are appropriately supported and reconciled.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on standardization, automation, scalability, and operational efficiency across reconciliation processes.
Analyze general ledger activity, journal entries, and subledger transactions to research and resolve reconciliation variances.
Utilize Oracle ERP, Oracle Account Reconciliation Cloud (ARC), OTBI reporting, Excel, and other technology solutions to improve operational effectiveness.
Champion the adoption of AI and emerging technologies to streamline workflows and enhance team efficiency.
Ensure compliance with GAAP, company accounting policies, and healthcare regulatory requirements.
Recruit, coach, develop, and mentor team members while fostering accountability, collaboration, and professional growth.
Support department initiatives, organizational transformation efforts, and other special projects as assigned.
What we’re looking for
Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. Additional qualifications include:
Experience
5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, preferably within healthcare.
Previous experience leading or managing accounting teams required.
Strong background in balance sheet reconciliations, account analysis, and month-end close activities.
Experience working in a shared services or centralized accounting environment preferred.
Demonstrated success leading process improvement, standardization, or automation initiatives.
Experience with Oracle ERP required; Oracle Account Reconciliation Cloud (ARC) experience strongly preferred.
Experience leveraging reporting tools such as OTBI, Power BI, or similar analytics platforms preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong understanding of GAAP and financial statement analysis.
Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyze large data sets and improve reporting processes.
Proven ability to identify process improvement opportunities and implement scalable solutions.
Comfortable leveraging AI and emerging technologies to improve efficiency and operational effectiveness.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate across finance and operational teams.
Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and develop high-performing teams while fostering accountability and ownership.
Ability to manage competing priorities and perform effectively in a fast-paced month-end close environment.
