About the Distribution Planning Team
The Williams Sonoma Team is looking for leaders who can collaborate and thrive in a dynamic environment, demonstrate and foster innovative thinking skills, and apply data and intuition to develop new approaches and solve problems.
Overview of the Manager, Distribution Planning role
You will lead your team in the successful implementation of Allocation strategies for Pottery Barn Kids Stores. You will be responsible for guiding your team in implementing retail allocation strategies which optimize store-level inventory and maximize profitability.
Responsibilities
Become a champion of the Allocation team within the company, communicating achievements & contributions
Lead team in developing seasonal strategies, allocation system best practices, and analysis to drive sales and growth goals.
Work cross-functionally with merchant and planning team leaders to optimize sales and margin across all store locations. Guide team in collaborating to achieve appropriate mix, depth, and breadth of inventory for each location. Continually lead team in making recommendations which seek to minimize markdowns through inventory distortion.
Work with key field partners to identify opportunities, address risks and concerns, and provide insights into key initiatives and strategies.
Mentor team members in translating assortment and buy plans into distribution parameters.
Lead team in improving on best practices to distribute initial order and replenishment to stores.
Work with visual floor set to insure in stock and presentation quantity by location.
Insure stores maintain appropriate in stock services levels weeks on hand.
Criteria
Have strong leaderships skills with the ability to mentor and inspire your team
Have a BA/BS degree in related field and/or 5-7 years of retail experience in distribution/allocation.
Have sharp analytical skills, are well-versed in MS Office, savvy in Excel and are comfortable manipulating and reading data.
Ability to build and sustain successful cross-functional relationships.
Have top-notch written and verbal communication skills. You communicate effectively and succinctly.
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Experience with JE/Tools Group replenishment system a plus
Maintain an entrepreneurial spirit amid a fast-paced, often changing environment.
Ability to perform work onsite in the (San Francisco) office weekly Monday – Thursday and remote on Fridays.

The expected starting pay range for this position is $97,500-$115,800. Applicable pay ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. In addition to competitive pay, compensation may include a variety of other components like benefits, paid time off, merit, and bonus opportunities.
