Product Channel Manager

PFS is seeking is seeking an experienced Product Channel Manager to bring to market its new line of Fulfillment-as-a-Service (FAAS) products and specialized packaged products as a service.   The Product Channel Manager reports into the AVP of Global Sales & Product and will be the initial team member.  The role works closely with the AVP to identify new product needs in the market and match those with adaptations of PFS services and technology, develop a go to market plan and budget, manage the offering to market, become the primary focal point for developing partner relationships and delivering sales enablement to  both the PFS sales force and partner sales force.

During the process, the Product Channel Manager will liaise with other PFS departments to deliver the new products, including IT, operations, finance and marketing.  The role will be responsible for bringing new products to clients in an engaging, functional way, while helping to open up additional distribution channels and collaborating with other departments. Knowledge of eCommerce, B2B processes, inside sales, channel sales and partner networks and product management are important in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the development of products by identifying potential offerings; conducting market research; generating product requirements; determining specifications, production timetables, pricing, and time-integrated plans for product introduction; developing marketing strategies.
  • Learn the market and PFS products and practice elimination decisions to deliver an MVP.
  • Practice discretion when discussing the production roll-out and maintain confidentiality.
  • Oversee the product’s go to market life cycle and anticipate any problems.
  • Evaluate market competition and position the product line so that it appeals to consumers.
  • Prepare, coordinate and lead launch events.
  • Develop and deliver a go-to-market summary and introduce it to the rest of the department.
  • Identify and approach potential distributors, where applicable.
  • Drive sales enablement for the PFS and channel partner sales teams.
  • Determine customers' needs and desires by specifying the research needed to obtain market information.
  • Recommend the nature and scope of present and future product lines by reviewing product specifications and requirements; appraising new product ideas and/or product or packaging changes.
  • Assess market competition by comparing the company's product to competitors' products.
  • Provide source data for product line communications by defining product marketing communication objectives.
  • Obtain product market share by working with sales team to develop product sales strategies.
  • Assesses product market data by calling on customers with field salespeople and evaluating results.
  • Provide information for management by preparing short-term and long-term product sales forecasts and special reports and analyses; answering questions and requests.
  • Bring new products to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and product development programs; preparing return-on-investment analyses; establishing time schedules with engineering and manufacturing.
  • Introduce and market new products by developing time-integrated plans with sales, marketing, IT and operations.
  • Jointly develop product pricing by utilizing market research data; reviewing production and sales costs; anticipating volume; costing special and customized orders.
  • Complete operational requirements by scheduling and assembling teams to develop product operational narratives.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Product Management, Business or Marketing required (MBA preferred)
  • 3+ years’ business development, product development or channel management experience in a supervisory capacity
  • Knowledge of the market and industry
  • Excellent networking skills, especially with regard to distribution channels and social media
  • An ability, desire and commitment to 30%  travel
  • Strong motivational skills, especially when it comes to leading a team
  • Data analysis skills
  • Project management skills
  • Demonstrated IT knowledge and basic IT testing skills.
