About this role
Food For Thought is a nonprofit organization providing food, nutrition, and compassionate services to Sonoma County residents affected by serious medical conditions. The Marketing and Social Media Intern supports the Marketing & Communications Manager by creating digital content, executing social media campaigns, monitoring trends, engaging communities, supporting partnerships, and analyzing campaign performance.
What you'll do:
- Assist with planning and executing social media campaigns across platforms including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube
- Create engaging digital content including short-form videos, graphics, captions, and stories
- Help maintain a consistent brand voice and visual identity across all social platforms
- Schedule and publish posts using social media management tools such as Buffer and Meta Business Suite
- Support the development of editorial calendars and campaign timelines
- Research emerging social media trends, cultural conversations, and platform features to help inform content strategy
- Assist with community engagement and identifying opportunities to expand reach and visibility
- Support influencer outreach and assist with coordinating partnership opportunities that align with FFT’s mission
- Track social media performance metrics and assist in preparing analytics reports
- Help evaluate campaign effectiveness and recommend improvements
- Provide support for paid social media advertising campaigns, including content preparation and monitoring performance

- * Interest in nonprofit communications, digital storytelling, and social media strategy
- * Familiarity with major social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, and TikTok
- * Strong writing skills with the ability to craft clear and engaging captions
- * Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks
- * Creative thinker with a willingness to learn and contribute ideas
- * Current college student or recent graduate in marketing, communications, media studies, or a related field preferred
- * Basic skills in content creation (video, graphics, or photography) preferred
