About this role
U. S. Steel is a recognized leader in steel production and industrial innovation. The Marketing Communications & Brand Intern will support brand strategy, digital communications, content development, integrated marketing campaigns, website redesign efforts, events and project coordination across corporate marketing initiatives.
What you'll do:
- Support integrated marketing and brand initiatives, including advertising campaigns, digital content, sponsorships, events and other special projects
- Assist with the development, review and organization of marketing and communications materials
- Help ensure materials are consistent with U. S. Steel brand standards, messaging and visual identity
- Coordinate creative assets, feedback and approvals with internal teams, agencies and external partners
- Research marketing and communications trends and identify new ideas and opportunities for the brand
- Support a major company website redesign in partnership with the Marketing Communications & Branding team and external agency partners
- Assist with organizing, reviewing and tracking website content throughout the redesign process
- Maintain project trackers, content inventories, timelines and status updates to help keep the website project on schedule
- Coordinate content and feedback from internal stakeholders and help track approvals and outstanding items
- Assist with quality assurance and content review as new website pages are developed
- Support ongoing website content updates and other digital communications initiatives
- Assist with drafting, editing and proofreading content for websites, social media, presentations, marketing materials and other communications
What they're looking for:
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Advertising, Journalism or a related field
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with different teams and stakeholders
- Demonstrated initiative, curiosity and willingness to learn
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint, Word and Excel
- Must be available to work a minimum of 20 hours per week during the academic year and up to 40 hours per week during the summer
- We are seeking a candidate interested in a long-term internship commitment, with the opportunity to continue in the role throughout the academic year and summer
- The ideal candidate will be able to balance a consistent work schedule with academic responsibilities and provide reliable support for ongoing projects and key initiatives
- Previous internship, campus organization or other relevant communications or marketing experience
- Experience with social media platforms and digital content
