Marketing & Communications Assistant Intern, Position Open

The American Swedish Historical Museum preserves and interprets Swedish and Scandinavian culture through exhibitions, celebrations, and educational opportunities. The Marketing & Communications Assistant Intern will support museum communications by managing social media, email communications, marketing materials, event promotion, press records, and photography while collaborating across departments.

What you'll do:

• Maintain and update ASHM Social Media Calendar
• Create social media copy and post on ASHM platforms
• Develop new social media campaigns
• Write and distribute weekly news email communications
• Design printed materials for ASHM events and advertising
• Maintain and update ASHM press clipping records
• Post ASHM events on online listing sites
• Attend staff meetings and meetings as needed with supervisor
• Assist with ASHM special events and on specific event committees and photograph all events
• Other duties as assigned

What they're looking for:

• Bachelor's degree in marketing, PR, communications, museum studies, or similar field
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Canva, and Adobe Creative Suite
• Experience with digital/social media marketing and electronic communications
• Superior written and verbal communication in English
• Photography/videography skills are a plus
