About this role

The University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center supports an off-campus work-study position at East Mountain High School. The Marketing & Communications Coordinator will support storytelling, outreach, brand development, social media, digital content, marketing campaigns, and engagement with families and the broader community.

What you'll do:

  • Create and schedule social media content across platforms (Instagram, Facebook, etc.)
  • Capture photos and videos of school events, classrooms, and student experiences
  • Assist in developing marketing campaigns for programs (enrollment, events, fundraising, etc.)
  • Draft short-form content including captions, posts, and promotional materials
  • Support design of flyers, newsletters, and digital graphics
  • Help maintain and update website content and announcements
  • Track engagement metrics and provide basic analytics reports
  • Assist with storytelling projects highlighting students, staff, and programs
  • Support outreach efforts for events, including invitations and promotional materials
  • Ensure brand consistency across all communications
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

  • Enrolled in a degree seeking program at UNM
  • Enrolled at least half-time (6 hours) at UNM for fall and spring semesters (Audit hours do not count)
  • Eligible for Federal Work-Study
  • Ability to maintain regular attendance during scheduled hours
  • Interest in marketing, communications, journalism, or media
  • Experience with social media platforms and content creation
  • Basic skills in photography, video, or graphic design (Canva, Adobe, etc.)
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Creativity and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
