About this role
The Minnesota Chiefs of Police Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing police-community relations and effective policing across Minnesota. The Marketing & Communications Intern will help grow the Foundation’s digital presence through social media management, content creation, storytelling, digital marketing, and nonprofit communications.
What you'll do:
- Manage and grow the Foundation’s social media presence by creating, scheduling, and publishing engaging content
- Develop and maintain a content calendar aligned with Foundation programs, events, campaigns, and priorities
- Identify and develop stories highlighting leadership training, community partnership grants, scholarships, events, and community impact
- Capture photos and video at Foundation meetings and events
- Create written and visual content for social media, email campaigns, the Foundation website, blog, brochures, event materials, and other communications
- Assist with graphics, photography, video, and short-form multimedia content
- Monitor social media, website, email, and other digital marketing performance
- Prepare monthly reports highlighting key metrics, progress, and opportunities for growth
- Collaborate with Foundation staff, board members, law enforcement agencies, community partners, sponsors, and vendors
- Assist with Foundation events and other marketing and communications projects as needed
What they're looking for:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field, or relevant professional experience
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
- Ability to create engaging content for social media and digital platforms
- Experience with website content management systems and email marketing platforms
- Ability to create visual content using graphic design, photography, videography, or short-form video editing tools
- Working knowledge of social media management, content creation, and analytics tools
- Ability to work independently, manage projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a remote environment
Benefits:
- Primarily remote, with occasional in-person meetings and Foundation events
- Internship credit may be available, if applicable
