About this role

TAMI is a small, mission-driven organization focused on archival collections, public programming, and community engagement. The Marketing & Community Engagement Coordinator will lead social media, email, website, video, and event promotion efforts while building relationships with partners, media, donors, and audiences.

What you'll do:

  • Plan, create, and schedule content across TAMI’s social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, and others), growing engagement with archive audiences across Texas
  • Write and send regular email newsletters and campaigns to donors, members, and the public
  • Coordinate logistics and promotion for TAMI events, including screenings, community outreach events, and fundraisers
  • Update and maintain website content, including event listings, blog/news posts, and featured archive collections
  • Edit short-form video — trailers, social clips, and event recaps — drawn from TAMI’s archival footage and original footage
  • Support storytelling efforts that highlight donors, collections, and community partners across marketing channels
  • Track basic engagement metrics (email, social, web) and adjust content strategy accordingly
  • Represent TAMI at community events and build relationships with partner organizations, media, and audiences

What they're looking for:

  • 1–3 years of experience in social media, marketing, communications, or a related field (internships count)
  • Demonstrated experience managing social media accounts for an organization or brand
  • Basic video editing skills (e.g., Premiere Pro, CapCut, DaVinci Resolve, or similar)
  • Strong writing skills and attention to detail
  • Comfortable managing multiple projects independently in a small-team environment
  • Ability to work occasional evenings/weekends for events
  • Experience with email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Constant Contact)
  • Familiarity with website content management systems (e.g., Drupal)
  • Interest in Texas history, film/media preservation, or archives
  • Experience working at a small nonprofit or cultural organization

Benefits:

  • Hybrid structure with a standard 35–40 hours per week (roughly 80% in-office / 20% remote flexibility).
  • Flexible scheduling (comp time) offered when hours exceed 40 in a week.
  • Generous paid time off: 140 hours of vacation and 35 hours of sick leave annually.
  • Observed Texas state holidays, plus paid winter break (the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day).
  • Retirement savings support via pre-tax 401(k) contributions.
  • $400/month health stipend via QSEHRA.
