About this role

VBA helps entrepreneurs and growing businesses build, run, and grow through technology, software, creative services, education, and business resources. The Marketing & Content Coordinator will create and manage digital content, support social media and marketing campaigns, attend community events, interview entrepreneurs, promote VBA programs, and help increase brand awareness in the St. Louis area.

What you'll do:

  • Create social media posts, graphics, captions, short-form videos, and other digital content
  • Record and edit Reels, TikToks, Shorts, interviews, product demonstrations, and behind-the-scenes content
  • Capture photos and video at VBA activities, community events, interviews, meetings, and approved client activities
  • Turn company updates, customer questions, business tips, and conversations into useful content
  • Create educational content that provides value even when VBA is not directly promoting a product
  • Help tell the stories of entrepreneurs, businesses, customers, employees, and community partners
  • Maintain VBA's brand standards, voice, values, and messaging
  • Maintain a weekly and monthly content calendar
  • Schedule approved content across VBA's selected social media platforms
  • Organize photos, videos, graphics, interview footage, and other marketing assets
  • Monitor upcoming campaigns, events, launches, and company announcements
  • Repurpose existing content instead of always starting from scratch

What they're looking for:

  • No years of experience required — portfolios, school projects, and personal content all count
  • You do not need years of professional marketing experience
  • We are looking for someone creative, reliable, organized, curious, comfortable meeting new people and attending community events, familiar with social media, comfortable creating short-form content and learning Canva and basic video editing, able to manage priorities within limited weekly hours, and professional when representing VBA in public
  • Reliable transportation is required for assignments that require local travel
  • The schedule may vary depending on marketing priorities, content opportunities, community events, interviews, campaigns, and business needs
  • Some approved evening or weekend events may occasionally be required
  • Helpful but not required: social media management, Canva, short-form video editing, photography or videography, TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, LinkedIn, Facebook, interviewing, event marketing, community outreach, networking, content planning, copywriting, podcast content, and marketing analytics
  • A portfolio, personal social media work, school projects, or freelance work may be considered in place of formal experience

Benefits:

  • Hybrid work arrangement, with some work able to be completed remotely.
  • Approved business travel may be reimbursed according to VBA's mileage and travel policies.
  • Growth opportunity with a progression from Marketing & Content Coordinator to Marketing Specialist, Community or Growth Marketing Specialist, and Marketing Manager.
