About this role

International Motors' Huntsville Powertrain Plant is the crown jewel of our manufacturing network—building our industry‑leading S13 engine and T14 transmission with world‑class precision and performance.

We are seeking a Sr. Materials Planner to join this high‑performing team and play a critical role in keeping our production operations running smoothly and efficiently.

As a key member of our materials management organization, you’ll be at the center of our supply chain—anticipating material needs, preventing shortages, optimizing flow, and ensuring every component arrives exactly when it’s needed to support production. You’ll analyze exception reports, engage directly with suppliers, and collaborate closely with cross‑functional partners including production, quality, engineering, procurement, logistics, and our customer response center.

This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment where problem‑solving, clear communication, and proactive inventory management make a real impact every day. As a Materials Planner, you will monitor and schedule material movement throughout the entire supply chain and production cycle, ensuring the right parts are in the right place at the right time to support our world‑class powertrain manufacturing operations.

  • Build strong, proactive relationships with suppliers to ensure consistent part availability and uninterrupted production support.
  • Own all Material Requirements Planning (MRP) parameters for your assigned part numbers, ensuring accuracy, stability, and optimal inventory levels.
  • Interpret and act on production demand signals, understanding how schedules translate into material needs across the manufacturing process.
  • Coordinate engineering change timing for current-production products, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruption to the production line.
  • Collaborate daily with Purchasing, Production, Supply Chain, and Engineering to resolve issues, support build plans, and keep materials flowing efficiently.
  • Bachelor's degree and at least 1 year of shop order planning and purchasing experience

OR

  • Master's degree and no experience

OR

  • At least 3 years of shop order planning and purchasing experience
  • Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. We do not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)
