Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Intern - Summer 2027

Clark Dietz, Inc. is an engineering firm providing transportation, civil, environmental, structural, mechanical, electrical, and construction engineering services. The Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Intern will assist engineers with designing mechanical and electrical building systems, including power distribution, lighting, HVAC, fire protection, and plumbing, while gaining hands-on experience through project work and mentorship.

What you'll do:

• Assist engineers with design of mechanical and electrical building systems including low and medium voltage power distribution, lighting, HVAC, fire protection and plumbing

What they're looking for:

• Students with a declared major in Mechanical, Electrical or Architectural Engineering with an interest/emphasis on building systems are encouraged to apply
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and documents and research specifications and codes as needed
• Ability to perform basic calculations to compute quantities, verify measurements, and organize and analyze data
• Good organizational skills with strong attention to detail and a willingness to perform a variety of tasks with guidance from other staff
• Good communication and listening skills with the ability to ask insightful questions and learn and apply new skills
• Proficiency with MS Office (Excel & Word) is required
• Valid driver's license and vehicle for commuting to project sites is required
• Previous experience with AutoCad MEP, Revit, SKM Powertools, Trane Trace.is desired
