About the Department
Provides professional counseling and support services to a diverse student population, promoting emotional well-being, academic success, and personal development. This position delivers crisis intervention to a variety of sensitive situations, to include suicide-potential scenarios, and psychoeducational programming while addressing a wide range of personal, emotional, behavioral, and psychological concerns.
Position Duties
A master's degree in counseling, clinical psychology, social work, or in a student services program with a counseling emphasis. Must have strong skills in providing excellent customer service and demonstrate strong ethics. Valid Driver's license and safe driving record required. Eligible for and able to obtain licensure as LPC, LMSW, or LMFT within 1 year of hire.

Experience in college counseling
Other Qualifications
Must possess in-depth knowledge of counseling theories, techniques and issues, and psychology and have the ability to integrate helping resources. Must be able to identify and appropriately respond to matters of concern to college students, to include crisis and potential suicidal situations. Must be conversant with substance abuse issues and therapy needs. Must have thorough understanding of human growth and development, along with sound interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively conduct sessions about emotional health. Must be able to communicate and coordinate treatment and interventions with multidisciplinary treatment team comprised of health and mental health professionals.
