About the Department
*Mental Health Supervisor for Berkeley, Charleston, Dorchester, Georgetown. Office location TBD
Under general supervision of the Mental Health (MH) Program Manager, the MH Supervisor provides first-line supervision to a team of MH Agents; maintains a professional communication network inside and outside the Department; participates in providing training to the program and the department staff; promotes public relations within the assigned county/region; assists with the scheduling and coordinating of MH related meetings and MH events.Position Duties
A bachelor's degree with at least 15 semester hours in social or behavioral science courses and experience in probation and parole work. An associate’s degree and two (2) years of military or certified law enforcement experience (to include Class 1 or Offender Supervision Specialist experience) may be substituted; or a high school diploma and four (4) years of military or certified law enforcement experience (to include Class 1 or Offender Supervision Specialist experience) may be substituted.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Certification by the Law Enforcement Training Council in accordance with 23-23-40 of the Code of Laws of South Carolina 1976.Minimum Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in criminal justice, social work, psychology, sociology, education, counseling or other social/behavior sciences or a bachelor's degree which includes at least 15 credit hours in the aforementioned disciplines and completion of three (3) year’s experience in criminal justice, counseling, or related professional human service work. Experience working with individuals with severe and persistent mental illnesses.
