Mental Health Tech Psychiatric Unit

Job Summary: The Mental Health Tech functions as a member of the health care team. The MHT assists the registered nurse in meeting the goal(s) of individualized patient care by performing designated patient care and unit activities.

Minimum Education, Experience, Training, and Licensures Required:

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
• Successful completion of Nurse Aide training program required.
• Certified Nurse Aide certification through the Kentucky Board of Nursing required.
• BLS required.
• Avade workplace violence prevention training (Level III) required after hire or transfer, not to exceed 3 months, and maintained annually. Training provided in-house.

EXPERIENCE: 1 years’ experience in a recent hospital setting or skilled setting required.  Prior inpatient psychiatric care preferred.
