Position Summary
Miami FC is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Merchandise Intern to assist with the daily operations of the club's merchandise department. This internship offers hands-on experience in sports retail, inventory management, e-commerce, product development, and game day operations.
The Merchandise Intern will support the Marketing and Merchandise teams by maintaining inventory, preparing customer orders, assisting with merchandise sales, and contributing ideas for future apparel and product collections. This is an excellent opportunity for students interested in sports business, retail management, marketing, or fashion merchandising.
This is an unpaid internship. College credit may be available through your academic institution.
Responsibilities
- Assist with tracking and maintaining merchandise inventory using inventory management systems and spreadsheets.
- Count, organize, label, and restock merchandise in storage and retail locations.
- Prepare and package online orders for shipment or local pickup.
- Assist with receiving, inspecting, and organizing incoming merchandise shipments.
- Help maintain accurate inventory records and report discrepancies.
- Help create attractive product displays and organize retail areas.
- Assist with merchandising promotions, product launches, and special sales.
- Research current retail, fashion, and sports merchandise trends to help identify new products for future seasons.
- Support end-of-season inventory counts and reporting.
- Complete additional merchandise and marketing projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a college or university pursuing a degree in Business, Marketing, Sports Management, Retail Management, Fashion Merchandising, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working with numbers, inventory counts, and spreadsheets.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Interest in retail, apparel, sports merchandising, or e-commerce.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets is preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for extended periods during events.
Internship Schedule
- Expected commitment of 10–20 hours per week, based on business needs and academic availability.
- Flexible scheduling around class schedules.
- Must be available to work weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Availability for Miami FC home matches and special events is highly preferred.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous retail, customer service, inventory, or warehouse experience is a plus but not required.
- Passion for soccer, sports apparel, and retail operations.
- Familiarity with Shopify, Square, or other retail point-of-sale systems is a plus.
