About this role

Brunswick Corporation is a global marine company seeking an Accounting Intern for its Mercury Marine Central Accounting team. The intern will gain hands-on experience with month-end close activities, financial reporting, account reconciliations, fixed asset and intercompany accounting, and process improvement initiatives.

What you'll do:

  • Assist with monthly fixed asset accounting activities, including asset additions, transfers, disposals, and depreciation calculations
  • Support physical asset verification projects and fixed asset audits
  • Support intercompany accounting processes, including recording and reconciling intercompany transactions
  • Assist with monthly & quarterly close activities
  • Prepare account reconciliations and supporting journal entries
  • Analyze financial data and identify opportunities for process improvements
  • Assist with special projects, reporting requests, and ad hoc analyses as assigned
  • Maintain compliance with company accounting policies, internal controls, and U.S. GAAP requirements

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States. This position is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship now or in the future
  • Relocation: Yes
  • * Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • * Minimum second semester sophomore status with 48 completed credits
  • * Availability to work full-time (40 or more hours per week) during the the months May through August of 2027
  • * Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial statements
  • * Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis tools
  • * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • * Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
  • * Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • * Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • * Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
