About this role

Peak Credit Union is a financial institution seeking a Money Movement Operations Analyst 1 to support accurate, timely, and compliant processing of routine money movement transactions. The role provides first-level operational support, researches transaction issues, maintains documentation and controls, and escalates complex or high-risk matters.

What you'll do:

  • Provides first-level support for Money Movement inquiries received through calls, chats, emails, service requests, and other approved intake channels
  • Reviews incoming requests for completeness, urgency, risk, member impact, and appropriate routing or escalation
  • Researchs routine transaction questions and exceptions using internal systems, documented procedures, and established controls
  • Supports assigned ACH activities, including research, setup or change requests, stop payment support, report review, and exception follow-up
  • Supports assigned check, draft, remote deposit capture, and inclearing activities, including research, file support, stop payment support, and exception documentation
  • Assists with wire-related inquiries by gathering required information, reviewing supporting documentation, monitoring request status, and escalating concerns as needed
  • Supports Fedline Advantage, branch cash, foreign currency, and related operational activities by following procedures, tracking requests, and maintaining required documentation
  • Assists with general ledger research and reconciliation support by gathering transaction details, documenting discrepancies, and escalating unresolved items
  • Identifies unusual, suspicious, incomplete, high-risk, or time-sensitive activity and escalate to the appropriate specialist, supervisor, fraud, compliance, or business partner
  • Maintains accurate ticket notes, audit trails, documentation, and service request updates in accordance with department standards
  • Communicates clearly and professionally with members, branches, contact center teams, internal departments, and other business partners
  • Supports daily queue management, backlog reduction, cross-training, and identification of process, documentation, or training improvement opportunities

What they're looking for:

  • High school education
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience in money movement
  • Basic knowledge of money movement operations, including ACH, wires, checks, remote deposit capture, branch cash, foreign currency, general ledger research, and related payment functions
  • Foundational understanding of transaction research, payment operations, deposit operations, service requests, case management, or similar operational workflows
  • Basic understanding of fraud awareness, internal controls, confidentiality expectations, and regulatory requirements related to financial transactions
  • Ability to follow documented procedures, apply established controls, and recognize when escalation is needed
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to complete routine processing, research, documentation, and ticket updates accurately
  • Ability to organize work, manage service queues, prioritize time-sensitive requests, and meet established deadlines
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to support members, branches, and internal partners professionally
  • Basic analytical and problem-solving skills to review transaction activity, identify discrepancies, document findings, and support resolution
  • Working knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, and internal procedures, including ACH rules, Office of Foreign Assets Control requirements, Regulation E, Regulation CC, Bank Secrecy Act, anti-money laundering requirements, and Fed Reserve processing requirements
  • Ability to learn and use core processing, payment processing, ticketing, case management, and Microsoft Office tools
