Duties

You will arrange cargo load for best support and to ensure the proper unloading sequence and, on occasion, may assist or direct the arrangement of cargo load out.,You will drive vehicles on specific trips or on regularly established schedules and routes in order to transport material and equipment within government installations, and between government installations.,You will maintain trip records or logs showing time of departure, sequence of stops, time of return, trip mileage, fuel and oil consumption, accidents, damages, or traffic violations.,You will operate trailers including enclosed vans, flatbeds, equipment trailers, lowboy trailers to 60 tons capacity, and occasionally other types of specialized trucks, tractor or truck-tractor combinations, which may include dual braking systems.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: THE ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION. Your resume must show that you have the ability to perform common tasks including: 1. Assessing traffic conditions and hazards locally and over long distance routes; 2. Using safety rules and regulations to operate vehicles such as, semi-tractor-trailers, heavy duty flatbed trucks, heavy fuel tank trucks, heavy straight in-line trucks, heavy duty tow trucks, heavy vacuum trucks, crane trucks, heavy duty waste disposal/trash collection trucks and vehicles weighing more than 32,000 pounds; 3. Selecting routes based on hazardous conditions and laws restricting use of roads based on size of trucks. This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
